DJ Khaled is working on his forthcoming album, Father of Asahd, and flew to Jamaica to add a few touches to the project, with the help of Buju Banton who was just released from prison.
Khaled hasn’t visited the island in 12 years due to his fear of flying. But following the birth of his son, Asahd Khaled, he began taking flights two years ago.
As soon as he touched down he linked up with Buju who admitted that it was his first time back in a studio since he came home after serving an eight-year bid on drug-related charges.
If you follow DJ Khaled, then you will know that he used to live in Jamaica and frequently promotes the culture. His relationship with the reggae icon began in the 1990s during his disc jockey days.
