The fear of the coronavirus continues to grow and it has surprisingly impacted the sales of corona beer.

Bloomberg reports that the company’s image is suffering as memes began to circulate across the Internet connecting the product to the illness. “Corona beer virus” and “beer coronavirus” became top searches recently.

As the coronavirus spreads past China to North America, Europe, and other parts of the world, people are taking precautions to stay safe. Even if that means not drinking their favorite beer.

It is important to note that beer is popularly drunk during the Summer, so the season change can be the cause of the dip in sales. But the Olympics is threatening to pull out of Tokyo as a result of the fear of the virus. So sh*t is real!
