Another day, another white celebrity saying some headass nonsense. Professional Donald Trump impersonator Alec Baldwin apparently thinks Black people love him because of his roasts of Trump but Black Twitter quickly reminded him that is not the case with an emphatic NAH.
Alec Baldwin’s talk show is set to debut on ABC next week, and this is definitely not the press he wants coming his way.
Baldwin invited himself to the cookout and brought potato salad with raisins, but he was denied entry swiftly. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the actor was clearly feeling himself a bit too much and let his portrayal of the tangerine menace on Saturday Night Live get to his head. He let go head-scratching statements such as he believes Black folks love him because of the portrayals of the “President” and believes that black people are afraid of Trump.
“I don’t know how to say this, and I don’t want to get it wrong either, because everything is a minefield of bombs going off. Ever since I played Trump, black people love me. They love me.”
“Everywhere I go, black people, go crazy,” he continued. “I think it’s because they’re most afraid of Trump. I’m not going to paint every African-American person with the same brush, but a significant number of them are sitting there going, ‘This is going to be bad for black folks.”
Just as loud and wrong as he wants to be. Twitter didn’t waste no time reminding the actor that he is indeed not the subject of our thoughts and also we are not afraid of Trump. Hit the gallery below to see all the reactions Black Twitter sent to the former 30 Rock star that he got too much dip on his chip.
Lana Del Rey let the world know last night she is not the one. Habitual troll Azealia Banks suggested the singer should apologize to Kanye West and Rey responded to her by telling her to pull up, basically.
The beef we all didn’t know we needed came out of nowhere, and we quickly found out that Lana wants all of the smoke. The feud began a week ago after Lana called out Kanye West for his MAGA ridiculousness. Banks couldn’t resist chiming in and lashed out at the “Young & Beautiful” singer calling Rey’s response to Kanye “vapid attempts to seem politically aware.”
She took it even further in an Instagram story stating: “Now I dare you to challenge me on any of opinions, “witch” …. @lanadelrey. You aren’t built for the battle … I suggest you apologize to Kanye West immediately.” Rey didn’t back down and responded via Tweet, telling the “212” rapper “u know the addy. Pull up anytime. Say it to my face. But if I were you- I wouldn’t.”
@shopcheapyxo u know the addy. Pull up anytime. Say it to my face. But if I were you- I wouldn’t.
From there the beef got messy and weird with the self-proclaimed witches hurling insults at each other back and forth. As you can imagine Twitter was here for all of it and entirely taken aback by Lana’s tweets to Azealia. You can see the hilarious fallout from the beef between Lana Del Rey and Azealia Banks below.
K. Michelle’s presence on Love and Hip-Hop Hollywood this season has been drama free for the most part. That was until last night (Oct. 8) when she confronted her former friend and fellow cast member Paris.
If you own ten dollars, you ain’t giving me nine.
Use ur own money not mine. I don’t give a FUCK if it was a penny and pop tart. If I worked hard 4it,It’s MINE! If u don’t have permission it’s mine.Nothing petty about demanding respect and knowing where every dime of your money.U brought it up 4a storyline, not me,so u got truth
Teased last week, we saw the conversation between the two go from 0 to 100 real quick when K. Michelle once again brought up the fact Paris stole from her this time coming with receipts. Not really feeling being called a thief once again for charging roughly $300 on the singer’s credit card she responded by throwing her fruity cocktail in K. Michelle’s face.
Paris definitely caught Kimberly by surprise with the move cause she looked like she was drowning once the beverage soaked her grill. Stunned, the “Very Special” singer read off all the fraudulent charges one by one made by Paris allegedly on her credit card before pointing out her new nose almost was damaged in the process.
As you can imagine Twitter was beside itself after witnessing the dousing. Some feel K. Michelle is wrong and some feel she is definitely within reason for being upset about Paris using her card without permission. Some were just here to see a drink thrown in K. Michelle’s face. You can peep all the reactions to Love and Hip-Hop Hollywood shenanigans below.
Thanks to Donald Trump the United States of America is now the upside down. We lost Kanye West, but it looks like Democrats have gained an ally in white America’s darling Taylor Swift.
Look what they made her do.
Usually very apolitical, the mega pop star has thrown her name in the hat in the political circus and announced in a passionate Instagram post that she is voting for Tennessee Democrats in the upcoming midterm elections and spoke out against systemic racism. The announcement of who she is going to cast her vote for follows the abysmal decision to appoint lying, beer-loving Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court.
Right on cue, the white conservative tears began to flow, and the backlash ensued as they saw Swift whom they considered their white privilege queen, side with the “enemy.” Now we won’t be inviting Taylor to BBQ yet, but she is definitely taking a step in the right direction. Will her Swifter’s follow her lead to voting booths across the country? That is the million dollar question.
This is definitely the first Taylor Swift song we liked ever. To see the reaction to Swift’s decision both negative and positive hit the gallery below.
The new season of Black Ink Crew is still in its infancy, but the drama is already on ten. Sky is known for wanting all the smoke, but she definitely met her match in Herb, a tattoo artist from New Orleans hired to work in Ceaser’s new Black Ink shop in Nola.
Ceaser is currently trying to expand his “empire” by bringing his tattoo parlor franchise to the Big Easy. Things seemed to be going smoothly but this is Black Ink we are talking about, and his subordinates don’t make his life any easier. Which brings us to Sky, who is definitely wearing out her welcome in the city of New Orleans. The Black Ink OG got into it with a local bartender she hired to work at the shop’s launch party and also her relationship with Herb instantly got off on the wrong foot when she didn’t take too kindly to him asking who she was?
From then on, Sky’s antennas were up because she was not feeling the local tattoo artist after she thought he disrespected her. Herb to his credit tried to extend some sort of olive branch to Sky, but she was not with it telling him to go away so she can talk about him when he was not around. He insisted that she should say what she had to say about him to his face and called her fake. Things went 0 to 100 real quick with Sky hitting Herb in the face when he told her bodywork was terrible.
Herb was not the one though and swung back catching Sky in the face knocking her wig off. Her Black Ink brothers led by Ceaser quickly run down the New Orleans native and give him an NYC style beatdown. Now we do not condone men putting their hands on women, BUT Sky was also wrong for hitting a man she doesn’t know at all either.
Twitter, of course, had some thoughts on the whole situation with some believing the Sky or Herb was dead wrong or in some cases both of them. Regardless Sky learned locals of New Orleans don’t play. You can see the fallout from the fight in the gallery below.
We can mute the tangerine menace that is our “President” Donald Trump on Twitter and Instagram but thanks to a new alert system he will be contacting you directly.
Can we opt out? That’s what some people are wondering because of the mass alert coming from FEMA at 2:18 p.m. Eastern called the ‘Presidential Alert’ stating “THIS IS A TEST of the National Wireless Emergency Alert System. No action is needed.” The purpose of the alert system is to give the sitting President the ability to warn citizens of dire situations like war, terror attacks, pandemic or natural disasters. Now, this sounds like a life-saving idea, but it’s the idea of our current sitting President and the government being able to send a message to our phones that is unsettling.
Oh and to make matter worse, you cannot opt out of the feature sorry to burst your bubble. The only way you can avoid the message is by turning off your phone completely. In Trump’s defense (we can’t believe we just said that) the system has been in the works for about 12 years, so he just happened to be the President when it was finally ready to be tested.
Why people are so worried about the system is because of Trump’s impulsiveness and the idea he could use the system to send anything he wants. A law prevents him from doing so, but this is not a conventional President we are dealing with. Also, some strange things have happened under his watch like the citizens of Hawaii getting a misleading warning of an incoming missile attack.
The system is already the subject of a lawsuit that was filed last week in New York. Three plaintiffs make the claim that the system is a violation of their free speech and is unconstitutional seizure of their devices. Whether you like it or not it’s still happening, you can see the fallout to the test in the gallery below.
Joe Budden is definitely enjoying the retired life but G.O.O.D Music’s hidden gem Cyhi The Prynce just offered the Hip-Hop commentator an offer that might be too good to resist.
CyHi wants all the smoke when it comes Joe Budden. The State of The Culture host has said some interesting things about No Dope on Sundays rapper on numerous episodes of his popular podcast, CyHi finally responded. During a Team Backpack Cypher ahead of the upcoming A3C Music Festival in Atlanta, CyHi let the chopper spray at Budden letting him know he’s been paying attention.
“I don’t need a Xanny or a shot of brandy/To murder a n***a, playin’ me like I’m cotton candy/Get ya kids napped, tell ’em pop the nanny/Turn your house into The Adams Family/Whoa, you wanna know what I just thought about?/I think that I should’ve been in Slaughterhouse/Leave you with a ribeye tryna clown me/Boy, I knock the legs off a cow just to ground beef/So call Backpack or Smack and tell ’em set it up/And anyone who wanna bring a half a mill, we can bet it up.”
Budden didn’t waste no time responding back and seemed intrigued by the challenge hinting at coming out of retirement.
“CyHi, I have a million dollars, and I’ll clean your ass up. You can’t come to the party with that. … I’m retired; I’m not replying to none of these n***as. … But half a mill, track for track? Of course, we gotta do that.”Any rapper that money has been on the line for—nah, they never really put it up. … I don’t think that CyHi has $500,000 of disposable income.” Budden added, “I want my half a mill, I don’t want to lose it.”
The two rappers have since engaged each other on Twitter putting the battery in Hip-Hop Twitter’s back who want to see the rap battle take place. Hit the gallery below to view the reactions to CyHi’s challenge to Joe below.
Thursday (Sept.27) Sony shared the first photo of Tom Hanks from the upcoming film reportedly titled You Are My Friend due out October 2019 where he will play the beloved children’s television host Fred Rodgers. The film’s director Marielle Heller in speaking with Entertainment Weekly earlier this year states the film “is not a biopic.”
“It’s really not. It’s a movie that’s largely focused on a reporter and (Mr. Rogers’) relationship to his life, and how (the reporter’s) whole world changes when coming in contact with Fred Rogers.”
“(It’s about) one man who’s in a critical point in his life – becoming a new father, having issues with his own father – and meeting Mr. Rogers to write a piece about him, thinking it’s going to be a bit of a puff piece, but it ends up changing his entire life,”
Just based on the photo alone, cinema Twitter is already onboard with the project, and the reveal of the picture was a much-needed distraction to take our minds off things going on in Washington DC that day. Hit the gallery below to see Twitter give their thumbs up to Hanks in unison and if you haven’t seen the fantastic documentary about Fred Rodgers Won’t You Be My Neighbor? you most definitely should.
Your momma named you Dunkin’ Donuts, so we’re going to continue to call you Dunkin’Donuts. That is the sentiment of patrons of the famed doughnut and coffee shop chain after the company announced it’s only going by Dunkin as part of new rebranding move.
The 68-year-old franchise’s rebranding kicks off January 2019 as the company will ditch Donuts and opt to be called just Dunkin’. Now yes doughnuts will still be a staple on the menu alongside its other breakfast and lunch sandwiches, the company now wants to focus on the beverage side which it has done very well for the franchise.
Another eye-opening move the company is making is trimming down its doughnut selection from 30 to 18 “core” options another step that might cause some outrage from loyal customers. Dunkin’ will test this new approach in 1,000 of its 9,000 locations before deciding to on rolling it out nationwide.
Chief marketing officer of Dunkin’, Tony Weisman tried his best to explain the move by describing it as a way to inject a breath of fresh air into the company. He also added:
“By simplifying and modernizing our name, while still paying homage to our heritage, we have an opportunity to create an incredible new energy for Dunkin’.”
Well, that is not how it’s being received at all the moment by Dunkin’ Donuts faithful. It would seem the old cliche if ain’t broke, don’t fix it is the prevailing message here. If Dunkin’ needs any proof messing with things is a bad idea they should refer back to IHOP who jokingly added they were changing their name to IHOB and was met with immediate backlash.
You check out the gallery below to see the reactions to Dunkin’ dropping the Donuts below.
