Kanye West is taking Gap to the next level. West returned to Twitter early Friday morning to make a huge announcement. The first was a picture that the Yeezy CEO captioned “#WestDayEver.” Little did we know, that Ye had just revealed a sneak peek at the first Yeezy-Gap collection.

Two hours later, the creative guru officially informed the world of his newly formed partnership. According to The New York Times, West scored a 10-year partnership with the worldwide clothing retailer.

Over the past 6 years, Ye has worked strategically diligently to make Yeezy the most in-demand footwear brand in the world. The fruits of his labor are now full display. According to Forbes, or Kanye will simply tell you himself, Yeezy is currently worth 1.3 billion dollars. The company’s wealth has accumulated due to the increase in sneaker sales.

Kanye West is set to bring the co-branded line of apparel to life in 2021, designing for men, women, and kids. On his debut album, the multi-Grammy Award-winning rapper told stories about his time at the Gap as an employee.

“I’m the Gap like Banana Republic and Old Navy,” says West in his debut album’s outro, “Last Call.” Now Ye has bridged a gap to bring the falling retailer back to life.

Meek Mill and Trey Songz Get Into Rift on IG Over #FeedYourCommunityChallenge

Meek Mill Talks Dropping Out of School to Follow His Dreams and Not in the American System

If only the rest of the community had this type of intensity when it comes to feeding the ‘hood.

Philly rapper Meek Mill and Virginia singer Trey Songz found themselves at odds with each other yesterday on Instagram over donating money to the “Feed Your Community” challenge.

Songz came on an IG post on Mill’s page where he was holding a stack of 100s. The VA crooner commented on the post, saying, “Take some of them bands and accept the #feedyourcommunitychallenge…”

After that comment, things got real…real fast.

Songz decided to take it a step further and put up his own post challenging the Dream Chasers general.

The back and forth continued, with Trey asking Meek why he felt offended by his “challenge” and of course, Meek responded.

Mill’s replies can be seen below.

Meek eventually tweeted that it was all love between the two and that it was just a big misunderstanding.

T.I. to Teach ‘Business Of Trap Music’ at Clark Atlanta University This Fall

T.I. Apologizes for Hymen Comments About Deyjah Harris

According to a confirmed report from Billboard, Atlanta rap icon T.I. will be teaching a class about the financial structure of trap music.

It may sound unreal, but Mr. Harris is slated to begin teaching the class this fall at famed HBCU Clark Atlanta University along with Dr. Melva K. Williams. The class reportedly will teach the financial foundation as well as the history of the popular sub-genre that has exploded into mainstream music.

When speaking about his new secondary education gig, T.I. said, “I’m excited to share my experiences and whatever resources or information I have that can be an asset for the future. Drugs have existed for as long as humans have been on earth and music has existed for quite some time as well. The commonality that threads the two together is what makes trap music a dominant force in culture today.”

Don Cheadle Reveals Cops Held Him at Gunpoint: ‘I Always Fit the Description’

Don Cheadle Reveals Cops Held Him at Gunpoint: 'I Always Fit the Description'

Even Black A-List celebrities like Don Cheadle aren’t above police brutality.

The actor appeared on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon and spoke about his experience with the police after moving to a predominantly white suburban neighborhood.

“That was when a lot of bullying started when I was at school, and it definitely predicated on race,” Cheadle said. “That’s when it started to be clear that the cops were not on ‘Team Don’ and there was a different treatment.”

Cheadle referenced a 1987 policy called Operation Hammer which was aimed at allegedly curb gang violence.

“I don’t know if it was officially coined that it was to stop and harass Black and Brown people, but that was the sort of unofficial official interdepartmental language that they used for the Hammer Program, what it was for and what it was designed to do — to intimidate and to make sure everybody knew who was really running things in L.A.,” he explained.

“I got stopped more times than I can count and guns put to my head…I always fit the description,” he added.

The veteran actor acknowledged that police brutality is not new, but changes are being made thanks to the undeniable video footage of these tragic incidents.

“I have good friends who were almost killed by the police for nothing,” he said. “So this is not something that was new to me once all of these videos started to come out. This was something that we knew very well was happening, they just weren’t being filmed.”

On Saturday around 11 am, FOOT, whose real name is Kenneth Singleton, was washing his Chrysler 300 when a gunman approached him from behind and shot him in the head and neck. He was rushed to Brookdale Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

FOOT4MAYOR was the 18th person to suffer from a gunshot wound since Friday in NYC. On Friday, a 27-year-old man was shot and killed in East New York, not far from where Singleton was killed.

FOOT is best known for his legendary artwork on the streets of ENY, particularly his signature footprint, which can be found in all corners of NYC, even appearing in the background of HBO’s early 2000s’ Brooklyn Girls Fight Club.

Additionally, the “Mayor Of East New York”, as Singleton was affectionately known, took his graff fame and artistic acumen to the world of fashion and launched his own clothing line called “Foot Wear.”

Mourners gathered outside of Singleton’s home Saturday night where he was killed to pay their respects and remember their fallen friend.

The Source Magazine/The Northstar group sends out deepest condolences to FOOT’s family and friends.

6ix9ine Promises 7-Day Rant After ‘TROLLZ’ Tops Billboard Hot 100

TekashiixineisReportedlyRelocatedAfterNeighborExposesAddress

6ix9ine called it! And now it is true. Tekashi 6ix9ine earned his first Hot 100 chart-topper in “TROLLZ” with help from Nicki Minaj. Prior to the debut of the number one hit, the colorful rapper took to Instagram Live to get some stuff off of his chest. In the rant, he mentioned Future, Meek Mill, and more. Nicki joined 6ix9ine following his individual rant and got some things off of her chest as well.

While Tekashi 6ix9ine is allegedly banned from the airwaves, he proved that he simply does not need it. Numbers don’t lie. As expected, the “TROLLZ” rapper took to Instagram to pop champagne like he won a championship game.

“YOU CAN SAY WHAT EVER IM NUMBER 1 AND YOU CANT TAKE THAT FROM ME I WENT UP AGAINST THE MUSIC INDUSTRY AND WON!!!!!!!!! @nickiminaj WE ARE THE FUCKING MONSTERS OF THIS SHIT I LOVE YOU MOMMAZZZ”

The Hot 100 chart-topper also stated streaming platforms, Spotify and Apple’s attempt to blackball him failed. Typically, new rap songs make the platform’s hottest rap playlists. Tekashi 6ix9ine has yet to make that playlist with either of his first two singles in 2020. The 7-day rant is certainly going to garner a lot of attention this week. Most of us are looking forward to it. We can’t say the same for those who did not want Tekashi 6ix9ine to hit number one.

Nicki Minaj took to Instagram to thank the Barbz for their outstanding support. Following the early success of Trollz, she is the artist with the most #1 on the Digital Songs Sales chart this year and the first female rapper since Lauryn Hill (1998) to debut #1 on the Hot 100.
