Yay or Nay?: The Wins & Fails Of The 2018 AMA’s Red Carpet [Photos]

An award show, in this case the 2018 American Music Awards, means a red carpet. This also means plenty of fashion wins along with the inevitable fashion fails. 

Cardi B was winning off g.p. as was Tracee Ellis Ross. As for too many others, some of these stylists are not so low key criminals.

Of course, J. Lo did J. Lo things.

Ciara and Missy Elliott Perform ‘Level Up’ at AMAs

5, 4, 3, 2, 1.

Ciara took it to the next level while performing her dance anthem “Level Up” at the 2018 American Music Awards. Backed by an army of dancers, CiCi busted out some killer choreography in a white leotard during Tuesday’s show. She kept elevating by bringing out her longtime pal Missy Elliott for the remix. Rocking a custom Dapper Dan Gucci tracksuit, Missy breathed more fire into the electrifying performance.

Ciara then hit fans off with another “Dose,” performing her Rodney Jerkins-produced single while accompanied by a marching band. She even did out the BlocBoy JB “shoot” dance and received a standing ovation from her peers including Khalid, Camila Cabello, and Cardi B.

“Now that’s how you do that!” said host Tracee Ellis Ross.

Post Malone Performs ‘rockstar’ and ‘Better Now’ at AMAs

Post Malone was feeling like a rockstar at Tuesday’s American Music Awards.

Not only did he go home a winner, but the beerbongs & bentleys rapper hit the stage for a medley of hits. Wearing a metallic jacket and pants, he performed his chart-topping smash “rockstar” with Ty Dolla $ign before segueing into his latest hit “Better Now,” which is currently No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Posty went home with two AMAs including Favorite Male Artist – Pop/Rock. “This is very, very, very, very cool,” said Posty while accepting the award. “I’m not very good at talking in front of people, but I just want to say thank you for the award. I love you guys very, very much.”

Cardi B, J Balvin, & Bad Bunny Perform ‘I Like It’ at American Music Awards

Cardi B brought the party to the AMAs.

As the most nominated artist of the night, the Bronx rapper delivered an electrifying performance of her No. 1 smash “I Like It” with help from J Balvin and Bad Bunny.

The new mom celebrated her Latin roots, taking viewers to the Bardi Gang Social Club, filled with colorful fashion and a lively band. Cardi rotated on a spinning device while stunting and shining in a flowy floral dress before Bad Bunny rolled out in a shopping cart. J Balvin emerged as Cardi busted out some salsa moves with her dance partner. They came together for the explosive finale, and earned a standing ovation from the crowd including G-Eazy, DJ Mustard, and actor Taran Killam, whose jaw was on the floor.

Earlier in the evening, Cardi won her first award for Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Artist. She thanked her team, husband Offset, and daughter Kulture in her speech. “I really wanna thank my daughter. And not just because she’s my daughter,” she said. “They said I wasn’t gonna make it after I had a baby.”

Jennifer Lopez to Debut New Music at the American Music Awards

The American Music Awards is slate to be a star-studded event on Tuesday night. Jennifer Lopez, Cardi B, Ciara, and Ella Man are a few of the confirmed performers.

J. Lo is slate to debut a new song from her upcoming film Second Act. The lineup also includes Camila Cabello. The “Havana” singer, who is nominated for five different categories, will perform a not-yet-announced song from “Camila,” her first studio album.

The ceremony will also have a special tribute for the music icon, Aretha Franklin.

Aretha Franklin To Be Honored At American Music Awards By A Few Surprise Guest’

Although, The Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin passed a month ago, her legacy continues to thrive. Following Franklin’s funeral which featured performances that were highly publicized and critiqued, she is said to be honored at the American Music Awards this October.

We are sure folks are wondering who will take on the tribute to the Queen of Soul during the AMA’s. Fortunately, the guest performers have been announced and we are sure you wont be disappointed. Reportedly, Gladys Knight, Cici Winans, Donnie McClurkin, Mary Mary, and Ledisi are all called to set the stage on fire.

The celebration is set to air live on ABC network from the Microsoft Theater on October 9th.

Cardi B to Perform at American Music Awards

Get ready to party with Cardi.

The Bronx rapper will return to the stage for her first televised performance since giving birth to daughter Kulture at the American Music Awards on Oct. 9.

Cardi, who ties Drake with eight nominations at this year’s show, will perform her Invasion of Privacy hit “I Like It” with Bad Bunny and J Balvin. The song is currently No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100 after hitting No. 1 in July.

Just this week, she earned her third No. 1 single on the Hot 100 as a featured guest on Maroon 5’s “Girls Like You.” She previously topped the chart with “I Like It” and “Bodak Yellow.”

Other previously-announced performers for the AMAs include Benny Blanco, Halsey, Khalid, Imagine Dragons, and Mariah Carey, who will debut “With You,” the first single from her upcoming album.

Hosted by Tracee Ellis Ross, the 2018 American Music Awards will air live on Oct. 9 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
