Cardi B’s New Single, ‘Money’ Gets Leaked

Cardi B knows there’s a thin line line between love and hate.

The “Bodak Yellow” rapper, 26, took to her Instagram story to discuss her new single, “Money,” which was released two days earlier than scheduled. At first, Cardi was initially upset about the leak but decide to embrace it and go into full promotion mode, while calling out Nicki Minaj’s “Barbz.”

“We tried to retract it, but you know the Barbz. They always posting me, they always post everything I do,” Cardi said. “They claim they hate me, but they really love me because they be on my page before my fans.”

“Everything that I do, they be on it before my fans,” the “I Like It” rapper continued. “So clearly, that seems like love to me, seems like you love me, so it’s like, ‘F–k it.’ I can’t retract it, I might as well put it out.”

Minaj and Cardi’s beef has been playing out openly in the past few months, with it reaching a turning point at the Harper’s Bazaar ICONs party where Cardi tossed a shoe at the “Barbie Dreams” rapper. Cardi later said that it was Minaj’s supposed remarks about her girl, Kulture, that set her off.

“I addressed you once in person, I addressed you a second time in person, and every time you copped the plea!! But when you mention my child, you choose to like comments about me as a mother, make comments about my abilities to take care of my daughter is when all bets are f–kin off!!” Cardi wrote on Instagram.

Minaj later addressed the incident on Beat’s 1 Queen Radio, calling the experience “mortifying and humiliating.”

“I would never ridicule anyone’s child,” Minaj said of Cardi’s comments. “[It’s] so sad for someone to pin that on somebody. … I would never talk about anyone’s child or parenting. … These lies are ridiculous.”
