Geto BoysBushwick Bill is once again being pronounced as dead. A new report claims the hip-hop veteran lost a medical battle Sunday night following confusing and mixed reports initially announcing his death hours prior.

According to a VLAD TV report, Bill died Sunday evening after going into a coma.

Update 06/09/2019 11:23pm – According to sources, Bushwick Bill has passed away after being in a medically induced coma.  Early this morning, Geto Boys members Willie D and Scarface reported that Bill had passed away, which was quickly disputed by Bushwick Bill’s family.  Bill’s daughter took to social media to announce that Bill was still alive but “fighting for his life”.  Later today, Bill’s organs began to shut down and he passed away. A few hours ago, Bushwick’s family issued a statement shutting down initial death reports.

10:05 AM PT — Bill’s daughter says her father is “fighting for his life” and needs prayers and support. She also hinted at some friction between Bill and unnamed industry people. She said on IG, “Certain people have been so quick to write him off as dead so they can capitalize off it.” She stressed, “There is no Geto Boys without Bushwick Bill.” 8:55 AM PT — Bill’s publicist tells TMZ he is “still alive and fighting cancer” in a hospital. She says she spoke to hospital staff to confirm, and says some of Bill’s family members are by his hospital bedside right now. Others are on their way. (TMZ)

According to Bill’s rep, he had been receiving medical attention at a Colorado facility.

Representatives of pioneering rapper Bushwick Bill say he is hospitalized in critical condition but still alive, contrary to some reports. Bill’s publicist, Dawn P., told The Associated Press that the rapper is on a ventilator at a Colorado hospital. She says hospital officials confirmed Bill’s condition Sunday morning and that his family is traveling there to be with him. (9 News)

Initially, Geto Boys leader Scarface announced Bill’s death Sunday morning in a since-deleted Instagram post.

Earlier today, Bushwick Bill—one of the founding members of the iconic Houston rap group Geto Boys—was reported dead at age 52 after Geto BoysScarface confirmed the news in a since-deleted Instagram post. TMZ subsequently changed their initial report, noting that Bill’s representative said that the rapper was still alive and fighting in the hospital. In February 2019, Bushwick Bill was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer and underwent intensive chemotherapy. (Pitchfork)
