A$AP Rocky is a free man.
Following a three-day trial, the rapper has been released from jail after a judge ruled that he will not have to remain in custody while awaiting the verdict and sentence in his Swedish assault case.
The announcement was met with cheers in the courtroom. Rocky is free to leave Sweden while they await a verdict, which is expected August 14. The other two defendants are also released and free to leave.

Rocky was behind bars for a month following his alleged involvement in a Stockholm street brawl on June 30.
Prosecutors asked the judge to impose a 6-month jail sentence for Rocky, claiming he should be punished for throwing a bottle at the alleged victim, Mustafa Jafari. They also wanted to keep him in custody pending the verdict because they say he continues to be a flight risk, but the judge disagreed.
According to TMZ, the fact that the judge is letting him leave the country may be a sign he won’t be found guilty.
In Rocky’s lawyer’s closing statement, he says the rapper’s action were not premeditated and the evidence backs it up. He says the footage of Rocky fighting with the alleged victim lasted for six seconds, and claims that is the whole of his involvement. He says the rapper is not responsible for the actions of others, and his actions do not amount to assault.
Upon hearing that her son would be released pending the verdict, Rocky’s mother Renee Black was overcome with emotion. “There is a God,” she was heard saying.
