On the last day of 2018, we decided to wait until the last minute to give our readers and other curious souls our takes on 15 of the best Hip-Hop albums we heard this year more than once. Given the sheer volume of music that’s dropped in the past 12 months, it’s nearly impossible to keep up with.

Let’s face it, year-end lists can either be a corny affair or an inside attempt to fudge numbers and approval on the back end. We’re doing none of that over here. The albums we listed in our top 15 list are there because we as a team actually rocked these records on our commutes, in the gym, at the crib and beyond.

We already know that we’re going to get some people tight by missing an artist or two, and believe it when we say that we understand and forgive us for the potential for oversight.  To hopefully make up for that, we will put up a second list of our fave albums that were dope but we didn’t give them enough spins for various reasons on New Year’s Day (that’s tomorrow, folks! We want to go party too!)

For now, check out our top 15 Hip-Hop albums of 2018 in alphabetical order. And why 15? Everyone does 10 or 20, we dare to be a little left of the usual sometimes. We also didn’t add streaming links because we think that if you’re on the Internet, you also know how to use a search engine, so go forth and make us proud!

Please ignore the numerals on the side. Thanks!

Future Responds To Reports Saying He’s Making $400,000 Tonight

Future

Atlanta rapper Future isn’t down for fans playing accountant. The hip-hop star has responded to social media claiming he’s banking nearly half a million dollars for his New Year’s Eve party appearance in Las Vegas.

Future Hendrix went to Instagram Monday (December 31) to add his two cents about the coverage.

Earlier in the day, reports emerged about Future and other celebs making serious bank for New Year’s Eve parties.

We’re told Nicki and Weezy will be performing at LIV Nightclub in Miami and for their appearance, they’re collecting a total of $250k between the two. If you think that’s low, you’re right because it is. We’re told the rappers are super tight with the owner, David Grutman, so they didn’t ask for their top rate. Future’s making out like a king out in Vegas. He’s performing at Drai’s and will pocket a sweet $400k check for grabbing the mic and doing his thing. (TMZ)

A few days ago, Nicki announced her and Lil Wayne’s New Year’s Eve celebration plans.

Kanye West Disses Drake – Again – For Following Kim Kardashian

Kanye West

Grammy-winning rapper Kanye West is at it again. Yeezy has once again returned to Twitter to fire shots off at rap rival Drake for following his wife Kim Kardashian on social media.

Yeezy went to Twitter Monday (December 31) and didn’t hold back on name-checking the 6 God.

This past weekend, Kanye had a mini-explosion about rap rival Drake following his wife on social media.

A few weeks ago, G.O.O.D. Music boss Pusha-T weighed-in on Kanye recently feuding with Drake on Twitter.

“Yeah, I talked to him,” Pusha said when asked if he had spoken to Kanye since last week’s explosive Twitter disses aimed at Drake. “Everything’s beautiful. Certain things I’m just not going to speak on because that’s not part of my DNA. But, hey, Kanye’s fine, man. He’s fine. He was just talking on Twitter, doing what he does.” (Associated Press)

Recently, West Coast rapper Snoop Dogg hit up social media to show his support for Drake amid the Ye feud.

Drake hard. On some real sh*t though, cuz, is y’all getting tired of this n*gga Kanye West and these tweets? Because I am. I see why n*gga you and Donald Trump hang out. Y’all tweet like a motherf*cker, cuz. I think that n*gga need Dr. Phil or Maury. You know what? That n*gga need Jerry Springer. Jerry! Jerry! Jerry! Jerry! Somebody take that n*gga phone, man. He acting a plume d*mn fool. Get your a** off your phone, n*gga and go holler that n*gga in real life and stop telling the whole f*cking world what you’re going through. We don’t give a f*ck. We got sh*t to do. Well, I got sh*t to do and I got way more customers before I get to you. Take that n*gga Kanye phone and put him on Jerry Springer.”
